Platphorm provides a system that allows businesses to build scalable, reliable, marketplaces where buyers pay sellers for information delivered by voice, mail, chat, SMS, or recorded phone message.

What does our system do? Well, say you just got a puppy and you’re interested in asking questions of a real, live expert on how to best train him. Google can’t help you. Nor can Yahoo, Bing, or any traditional search engine. However, a site powered by our platform can: You type in “puppy training” and instead of getting a list of pages, you get a list of people — real people — ready to speak with you live over the phone to answer your questions or via mail, chat, or SMS. You can browse each provider’s profile, look at their ratings, and read written feedback left by others.

When you find a provider you like, you press a “Call Now” button and our system initiates a call to you, then the provider, and you are connected to talk for whatever price per minute (or call) the provider has set. It’s that simple. We white-label this system for other companies in any vertical, and handle not just the multimodal communications system, but all customer and community support, provider payment, and systems monitoring.

Our Platform


Best In Class System

We’ve built our platform using best in class tools and practices. Our multi-modal applications ride on top of Rails. Our telephony system has been built on top of CCXML & VXML. Our setup is geographically redundant. We use a hybrid of cloud and dedicated servers running the latest technologies to ensure the optimal mix of performance and availability. We’re serious about testing. We use RSpec, Selenium and our own homegrown call tester for regression testing. We leverage services like New Relic and Airbrake to monitor the quality and performance of our system.

Customer Service, Community and Risk Management

Our platform isn’t just hardware and software. It’s people, too. Of course, the most important people are the ones you fill it with: Buyers and Sellers. But these people need other people to help them to use the system, resolve issues, and make sure everyone is playing nicely and by the rules. That’s where our people come in. When you white-label our system, you also have access to a team dedicated to customer support, community management, and risk management. These experts and the tools they utilize are included in the licensing fees. All that is really left once you provide a look to the site is to market it!

Technical Product Manager

By leveraging our core technology that facilitates paid information exchange, we’re building a new social entertainment marketplace (iOS / Android / Web). We’re looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager that will help us move new products and features over the finish line.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience as a Product Manager, preferably for an e-commerce and consumer product
  • Demonstrable wireframing/mockup skills and UX knowledge
  • Problem solver with strong organizational and analytical skills

  • Strong working experience with agile development, ticketing systems, and iterative design

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and launch of fabulous new products from spec development to customer feedback
  • Make the hard calls with data-driven decisions, prioritize requirements and functionality, be able to identify an MVP (minimal viable product) that does not sacrifice customer experience and know how to get there
  • Define and drive the product roadmap
  • Act as the liaison and establish a consensus of priorities between all stakeholders including the executive team, engineering, customer operations, design, and marketing
  • Be the product development point of contact for design, engineering, and QA
  • Be the Product Management team and establish process and procedures that keep everyone motivated and working efficiently

Customer Success Representative

Do you love advocating for customers? Enjoy working with a small, dedicated team? Then we’d love to meet you! We are looking for an experienced Customer Advocate / Customer Support Representative with a strong background in online communities and email-based support with a passion for going above and beyond.

Founded in 2009, Platphorm is a software development firm with an expanding portfolio of niche B2C communications marketplaces and global operations staff in six different countries. The marketplaces we've built enable anyone to provide fee-based advice in their area of expertise, at a price of their choosing, and for others to find them and pay for a conversation. The interaction can take place over the phone, email, text, or chat. Our dog-friendly headquarters with a fully-stocked kitchen are located in downtown San Francisco.

Responsibilities:

  • As an expert on our products and customers, you will serve as a liaison between customers and the rest of the company, and act as the customers' advocate by:
  • Responding to individual customer support issues and ensuring a timely response to all customer support inquiries.
  • Identifying technical issues, suggesting enhancements, and communicating them to the engineering team.
  • Engaging in social media, including forums for internal customers, as the voice of the company.
  • Creating and maintaining documents that answer common support questions.

Qualifications:

  • Have a strong understanding of online communities and experience as an online community member. Experience as a community manager is a plus.
  • Have 1+ year experience in a customer support role focused on online support for a technical product.
  • Have proven success at providing exceptional customer service.
  • Have strong written communication skills.
  • Thrive in a small team environment and are willing to help out with duties outside the scope of your job.

Content Manager (Contract)

Are you passionate about creating compelling content that supports innovative product experiences? Do you enjoy solving complex problems? Are you equal parts creative and analytical?

Platphorm is looking for an experienced editorial content manager to join our growing team to help lead content initiatives in support of the upcoming launch of our new advice product, Everclear, which is currently in development.

Working together with other members of the Product Marketing & Strategy team, you will oversee a cross-channel content marketing program and serve as the editor of Lifescopes, a weekly personalized guidance email launched in early June 2018 with 30K+ subscribers to date. Lifescopes is a key acquisition strategy and will be integral to the ongoing engagement of both new and existing customers for Everclear.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop/manage Lifescopes’ editorial calendar and produce new content on an ongoing basis
  • Manage a team of freelance writing resources and ensure that content produced upholds established product standards and is consistently on-brand, on-message, and in-voice
  • Administer our custom CMS for Lifescopes
  • Serve as copy editor for all content deliverables in your purview
  • Create and execute content strategies based on product and marketing requirements
  • Develop content frameworks, style guides, terminology, taxonomies, program plans, and editorial calendars
  • Cultivate a strong understanding of the product space, including the unique needs and goals of target end-users in order to apply these insights in delivering highly-relevant messaging
  • Oversee the development of content deliverables across the product user experience, customer lifecycle, and across channels (in-product copy, email marketing, social media, blogs and other key touchpoints)
  • Leverage best practices in optimizing content for organic search (SEO)
  • Conduct research and ideate new opportunities for extending content engagement via strategic marketing programs
  • Collaborate closely with the product, customer operations, and tech teams
  • Support the VP of Product Marketing & Strategy on any other content-driven programs

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Communications, English, Journalism or related discipline
  • 3-5 years of content development/marketing/strategy
  • Demonstrated experience in managing successful cross-channel content marketing programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator with outstanding editorial chops
  • Some experience with SEO (preferred)
  • Design sensibility (a plus, but not required)
  • Tenacious problem solver with strong project management skills
  • Extremely detail-oriented, adaptable, fast learner
  • Desire to work on niche B2C products
  • Laser-focused on results
  • Start-up experience (a plus, but not required)
